Our Trout reservation list for 2026 is filling up quickly.
Orders and reservations are held on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Spring 2026 – RAINBOW Trout
1 – 3 inch = $0.85/ea (100 to 150 per box)
3 – 5 inch = $1.75/ea (35 per box)
5 – 7 inch = $2.50/ea (15 – 20 per box)
Spring 2026 – BROWN Trout
2 – 3 inch = $0.85/ea (50 to 100 per box) (maximum order 100)

2-4 inch = $1.30/ea (35 to 50 per box)

Box fee & materials = $5.00/ea
- If boxes are returned, the fee for soft, non-reusable materials is $2.50/ea
- The number of fish packed in each box may be adjusted depending on the average size of fish at time of packing.
Delivery fee = $1.50 per loaded mile (one-way)
Maximum Orders
- Deliveries or hatchery pick-ups are limited to 40 boxes per order.
- If approved by hatchery staff, orders requiring more than 40 boxes will be split into two separate delivery or pick-up dates.
Tank Hauls
- You may bring your own tank and aeration device for hatchery pick-ups.
- Personal tank hauls must be coordinated with hatchery staff prior to arrival.
- The hatchery does not provide tank deliveries at this time.

- RAINBOW Trout Strains – we have 3 strains of rainbows available.
- Kamloops=Triploid/Sterile
- Steelheads=Triploid/Sterile
- Arlees=Diploid/Non-Sterile
- BROWN Trout
- Diploid/Non-Sterile
- BROOK Trout
- Diploid/Non-Sterile
- If a fish species is listed above as Diploid, non-sterile, there is no guarantee that the fish will naturally spawn or reproduce in your pond.

All purchasers of trout must have a valid and current pond permit issued by Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks for the species of fish being ordered from our hatchery in order to stock your pond.
ALL pond permits will be verified prior to fish sales.
If you do not have a current pond permit, need to update it, or need to apply for a new permit, please contact FWP at (406)444-2535 or at https://fwp.mt.gov or call your regional office.

Our reservation list fills up quickly every year and we recommend that you place your order as soon as possible – or at least a year in advance.
